Introduction
Located close to Kiev in Ukraine, the AERO company has over 20 years of experience in the development and manufacture of aircraft components and spare parts from composite materials. These includes propellers for ultralight aircraft, undercarriage springs for light aircraft and ultralight trikes.
In non-aircraft markets, they manufacture fans of different configurations and blades for wind turbines. These products are exported to more than 50 countries worldwide.
The Aeroprop is a composite, ground adjustable propeller, available in diameters from 1.5 to 2 metres and configured with from 2 to 6 blades with left or right rotation, for ultralight aircraft.
The blades are manufactured with composite materials – fibreglass and carbon fibre. The propeller hub is made of high-strength 2024 aluminium alloy, milled from a solid block. The use of such materials allows for strong but light propellers. The design of the hub allows for adjustment of the angle of the blades on the ground.
Technologies
Glass Carbon Fibre
The structural polymer composite material, carbon fibre and glass fibre hybrid reinforced plastic, fibreglass with 30% addition of carbon fibre. There are indications that the incorporation of both fibres into a single matrix leads to improved properties. The incorporation of glass fibres in carbon fibre reinforced plastic improves impact properties and increases the strain to failure of the carbon fibre in tension.
The main components of glasscarbonfibre are carbon and glass fibre materials (glass and carbon grades T10-80) and a low-viscosity epoxy binder resin, diluent and hardener. Glass and carbon fibre fabrics provide strength and rigidity. The binder provides solidity and promotes uniform distribution of strength – tensile strength, kg / cm – from 4000 to 5400; – breaking stress at compression, kg / cm – from 3400 to 5300; – bending strain in compression, kg / cm – from 4000 to 5300; – modulus of elasticity (x 100,000) kg / cm – from 2 to 4.
Along with high strength, glasscarbonfiber also has high performance, including: low water absorption, anti-magnetic properties, high breakdown voltage, vibration-absorbing properties, maintainability, low specific gravity and low electrical conductivity.
Aluminium Alloy 2024
is an aluminium alloy, with copper as the primary alloying element. 2024 aluminium is often used in the aerospace industry. It is a high-strength alloy suitable for projects requiring a high strength-to-weight ratio and excellent fatigue resistance.
